Cover image: Per request or per result?

Sorsa API suits steady, high-volume X reads and crypto influence scores; Weir suits small or uneven volume, with free credits every month.

Sorsa is a read-only REST API for public X (Twitter) data, run by Scouts Labs and once called TweetScout API. We run Weir, so every Sorsa fact here comes from Sorsa's own pages, checked on 22 October 2026.

Moving a Sorsa search to Weir is one call:

curl https://api.weirapp.io/v1/x/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $WEIR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query": "api", "fromUsers": ["XDevelopers"], "sort": "latest", "limit": 20}'

Sorsa API or Weir: which is better for you?

It depends on how much you read, and how evenly. Sorsa sells monthly plans billed per request, so it pays off when you use most of a plan every month.

Weir bills per result from prepaid credits and gives 5,000 free credits a month. It costs less when your volume is small or uneven, and it adds Reddit.

Sorsa Weir
Billing Monthly plan, per request Prepaid credits, per result
Prices $49 to $13,990 a month Packs of $5 to $1,000
Free tier 100 requests, once 5,000 credits every month
10,000 posts $49 a month $1.10 a month
1 million posts $199 a month $104.50 to $130.63 a month
Rate limit 20 requests a second 30 to 600 a minute, by tier
Endpoints 40, X only 25 for X, 12 for Reddit
MCP server Local, started with npx Remote, with OAuth sign-in

Neither lets you post. Sorsa says it "does not ship a managed webhook product", while Weir's monitors send you new posts by webhook, hourly at best.

Sorsa API pricing: you pay per request, not per tweet

Sorsa charges you per call, not per result. Its pricing page says "any single endpoint call is one request, no matter how much it returns."

A search page of about 20 tweets is one request. The four main plans:

Sorsa monthly plans, October 2026
Starter, 10,000 requests$49
Pro, 100,000 requests$199
Growth, 250,000 requests$475
Enterprise, 500,000 requests$899

Sorsa's pricing page, 22 October 2026

Read the fine print too:

  • Yearly billing gives you two months free.
  • Extra requests are opt-in: $4.90 per 1,000 on Starter, $2.00 on Pro.
  • Errors are free. "Requests that return an error are not deducted from your quota."
  • Bigger plans go up to 10 million requests for $13,990 a month.

A plan costs the same whether you use all of it or a tenth. Sorsa puts search on Pro at about $0.0001 per tweet, which assumes you use the whole plan.

What 10,000 and 1 million posts a month cost

Both examples assume you search, where each API returns about 20 posts per call.

At 10,000 posts a month:

  • Sorsa: 10,000 ÷ 20 = 500 requests. The 100 free requests come once, so you need Starter at $49.
  • Weir: 500 calls + 10,000 posts = 10,500 credits. Less 5,000 free, you pay for 5,500: $1.10 at the $5 pack's rate.

That $5 pack lasts you about four and a half months.

At 1 million posts a month:

  • Sorsa: 1,000,000 ÷ 20 = 50,000 requests. Pro covers 100,000 for $199. Starter plus extras would be $245.
  • Weir: 50,000 calls + 1,000,000 posts = 1,050,000 credits. Less 5,000 free, you pay for 1,045,000: $130.63 at the $200 pack's rate.
Reading 1 million search posts a month
Sorsa Pro$199.00
Weir, $50 pack rate$153.68
Weir, $200 pack rate$130.63
Weir, $1,000 pack rate$104.50

Sorsa's Pro plan holds about 2 million search posts for the same $199, so the gap closes as you read more.

What is the Sorsa Score on Twitter?

The Sorsa Score is Sorsa's crypto influence rating for an X account. Its site says the score "counts who follows an account, not how many."

Follows from crypto influencers, projects and funds add points, and bigger names add more. Random followers add nothing, and posts, likes and giveaways don't move it.

New accounts start at Unknown, below 100. The higher tiers start here:

100Noted
500Credible
1,000Significant
2,000Supreme, the top tier

The API serves it at /score, with 7-day and 30-day changes at /score-changes. Sorsa's docs say these use "the Sorsa internal database focused on the crypto industry."

Weir has no score like it; you get X's own counts, such as likeCount and followersCount.

The Sorsa API playground and API key

Sorsa's Playground runs its 12 most-used endpoints in your browser and downloads results as CSV, Excel or JSON. Sorsa says "every query here hits live X data the moment you click Run."

It needs a free key, which takes three steps:

  1. Sign in at api.sorsa.ioUse Google, GitHub, Telegram, a wallet or email. No card.
  2. Copy a key from the dashboardSend it in an ApiKey header on every request.
  3. Check your balanceGET /key-usage-info shows the requests you have left.

Weir's answer is the Console in your dashboard. It runs any endpoint with your key and shows what each call cost.

When to choose Sorsa

Choose Sorsa if you read X heavily and steadily, or if you work in crypto.

Good

  • About $0.10 per 1,000 search posts on a fully used Pro plan
  • Followers at about $0.01 per 1,000 on Pro, 200 per request
  • Bulk lookups of 100 tweets per request
  • 20 requests a second on every plan
  • Sorsa Score and crypto follower data
  • Follow, retweet, comment and community checks for campaigns

Watch out

  • A flat monthly fee, whether you use it or not
  • The 100 free requests come once

Weir charges $0.10 to $0.20 per 1,000 followers, so a fully used Pro plan saves you 10 to 20 times.

When to choose Weir

Weir is the better fit when your volume is small, uneven or split across X and Reddit.

Good

  • 5,000 free credits every month, about 4,760 posts
  • An empty search costs 1 credit, $0.0002 or less
  • Purchased credits never expire, with no subscription
  • Reddit posts, comments and users on the same key
  • A remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in, nothing to install
  • Monitors that send only new posts, by signed webhook

Watch out

  • 30 requests a minute on the free tier, 600 at most
  • No crypto scores or follow checks

Migrating from Sorsa to Weir

On Sorsa, you search with a POST and the key in an ApiKey header:

curl https://api.sorsa.io/v3/search-tweets \
  -H "ApiKey: $SORSA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "from:XDevelopers api", "order": "latest"}'

Weir's is the call at the top. We ran it with limit: 3 on 22 October 2026 and got three posts for 4 credits. The newest, trimmed:

{
  "id": "2111172163776708859",
"text": "New guide to the 𝕏 Chat API from @santiagomed: ...",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-16T19:07:22.000Z",
"author": { "username": "XDevelopers", "name": "Developers", "followersCount": 697881 },
  "likeCount": 118,
  "viewCount": 14471
}

These fields change name:

Sorsa Weir
ApiKey header Authorization: Bearer
tweets[] data[]
next_cursor meta.nextCursor, sent as cursor
order: "popular" sort: "top"
full_text text
likes_count likeCount
user.display_name author.name
user.followers_count author.followersCount

Weir's counts can be null when X didn't report them, so don't read a missing count as zero.

When not to use Weir

  • You read over 2 million posts every month. Sorsa's flat plans cost less at that scale.
  • Your job is follower graphs or bulk id lookups. Sorsa fits 200 followers or 100 tweets into one request.
  • You need crypto scores or follow checks. Only Sorsa has them.
  • You poll many times a second. Sorsa allows 20 requests a second; Weir tops out at 600 a minute.
  • You need to post. Neither can, so use the official X API.

FAQ

How much does the Sorsa API cost?

As of October 2026, Sorsa's plans start at $49 a month for 10,000 requests, and Pro is $199 for 100,000. A search call of about 20 tweets is one request. New accounts get 100 free requests.

Is there a free Sorsa API key?

Yes: every new account gets 100 free requests, with no card and no expiry. That's up to 10,000 tweets by bulk lookup, or about 2,000 through search. After that, you need a paid plan.

What is a good Sorsa Score?

Sorsa calls 500 or more Credible and 2,000 or more Supreme, its top tier. The score rises when influential crypto accounts follow you. Sorsa says posting more does not raise it by itself.

Does Sorsa have an MCP server?

Yes. sorsa-mcp is open source, runs on your machine with npx and your Sorsa key, and has 40 tools, one per endpoint. Weir's is remote at https://api.weirapp.io/mcp, so Claude, ChatGPT and coding agents sign in with OAuth.
