Why short date windows work

X has no “oldest first” sort. The Latest tab lists newest first, so a search across years puts the first post at the very bottom. A week-long window holds only a handful of posts, so the oldest ones are a short scroll away.

The searches use from:, since: and until:, which X reads by calendar day in UTC; until: excludes its own date. The most-liked mode steps min_faves: down from 100,000 likes on the Top tab. Every operator is explained in our guide to advanced search operators, and the X advanced search builder writes any other search.

Questions

How does it find the first tweet?

It searches the account's posts in short date windows, starting from the month they joined. On the Latest tab a short window lists only a few posts, so the first one sits near the top instead of under years of later posts.

Where do I find the join month?

On the profile, under the bio: "Joined March 2006". Use that month. If the first windows are empty, the account waited before posting, so open the later windows.

Why does a search show nothing?

The account posted nothing in that window, deleted those posts, or is protected. Searches show public posts only, and you may need to be signed in to x.com to see results.

Is my input sent anywhere?

No. The links are built in your browser. Nothing is sent until you open a search on X yourself.
