The Xquik API fits you if you post to X or need alerts within seconds; Weir fits small X (Twitter) budgets and Reddit.

Xquik is a REST API, MCP server and webhook service for X, sold as credits. We run Weir, so every Xquik fact here comes from Xquik's own pricing page and docs, checked on 22 October 2026.

Moving an Xquik search to Weir is one call:

curl https://api.weirapp.io/v1/x/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $WEIR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"fromUsers": ["XDevelopers"], "minLikes": 50, "limit": 20}'

Xquik API or Weir: which fits you?

It depends on whether you write to X, and on how much you read.

Both bill per result from credits. Weir adds 1 credit per call, while an empty Xquik search costs nothing.

Xquik Weir
Prices $10 top-up, or $20 to $199/mo Packs of $5 to $1,000
Free tier None 5,000 credits every month
10,000 posts $1.50 $1.10
1 million posts $119.16 to $150 $104.50 to $130.63
Posting, likes Yes, with a linked X account No, read-only
Monitors Every second Hourly, daily or weekly
Rate limit 500 reads a second 30 to 600 a minute, by tier
Reddit No Yes

Both sign webhooks with HMAC-SHA256, and both run a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in.

Xquik pricing: $0.15 per 1,000 tweets or profiles

Xquik charges 1 credit per tweet, profile or follower returned. Its pricing page puts a pay-as-you-go credit at $0.00015, so 1,000 results cost $0.15.

The fine print, from the same page and Xquik's billing guide:

  • No free plan. Pay as you go starts at $10 for 66,666 credits.
  • Credits carry over. Top-ups never expire, and unused plan credits roll into the next month.
  • Empty searches are free. "A search bills only the rows it returns."
  • Writes cost more. A post or reply is 30 credits; a like or follow is 10.

Weir sells prepaid packs from $5 to $1,000 with no subscription, and they never expire either.

What 10,000 and 1 million posts a month cost

Both examples assume you search. X serves about 20 posts per page, and Weir adds 1 credit per page.

At 10,000 posts a month:

  • Xquik: 10,000 credits, or $1.50. The $10 minimum top-up lasts you over six months.
  • Weir: 500 calls + 10,000 posts = 10,500 credits. Less 5,000 free, you pay for 5,500: $1.10 at the $5 pack's rate.

At 1 million posts a month:

  • Xquik: 1,000,000 credits. That is $150 pay as you go, or $119.16 at the Business plan's rate if you use all its credits.
  • Weir: 50,000 calls + 1,000,000 posts = 1,050,000 credits. Less 5,000 free, you pay $104.50 at the $1,000 pack's rate.
Reading 1 million X posts a month
Xquik, pay as you go$150.00
Weir, $200 pack rate$130.63
Xquik, Business plan rate$119.16
Weir, $1,000 pack rate$104.50

Xquik's Pro plan works out at $0.129 per 1,000, a hair under Weir's $200 pack.

Can Xquik post, stream or monitor X (Twitter)?

Xquik can post, and its monitors are close to live. It does not list a streaming endpoint.

  • Posting. Xquik can post, reply, like, retweet, follow and send DMs. "Every X write requires" a connected X account.
  • Follow limits. Follows and removals share a cap of 20 a minute and 400 a day.
  • Monitors. "Active monitors check every 1 second" and push events to a signed webhook.
  • No stream. We found no streaming endpoint in its docs; events arrive by webhook.

A monitor is billed while it runs, not per event:

1 secondbetween Xquik monitor checks
30 creditsper Xquik monitor hour
$3.24per Xquik monitor, 30 days, pay as you go
1 creditper Weir monitor run, plus new results

That $3.24 is 30 credits × 24 hours × 30 days, or 21,600 credits. Weir's monitors run hourly at best, so an hourly one costs 720 credits a month plus the new posts it finds.

Xquik MCP and API keys

Xquik's MCP server lives at xquik.com/mcp, and its docs cover the rest:

  • Sign-in is OAuth 2.1, or an API key, over Streamable HTTP.
  • Three tools come in the default Code Mode: docs, search and execute.
  • Writes need a connected X account. In Claude they go through a separate tool, and "Claude asks before each call."
  • Keys can take a paid_reads scope, which limits them to X reads, and an expiry of up to 365 days.

Weir's MCP server is at https://api.weirapp.io/mcp, covered on our X MCP server page. Weir never writes to X, so no Weir key or agent can post.

When to choose Xquik

Choose Xquik if you write to X, or need to know within seconds.

Good

  • Posts, replies, likes, follows and DMs from one API
  • Monitors that check every second
  • $0.15 per 1,000 tweets, profiles or followers
  • About $0.12 per 1,000 on the Business plan
  • Empty searches cost 0 credits
  • 500 reads a second

Watch out

  • No free plan; top-ups start at $10
  • An active monitor costs 30 credits an hour
  • X only

Profiles show the gap best. Xquik charges $0.15 per 1,000 pay as you go, while single Weir lookups cost $0.30 to $0.60. That makes Xquik 2 to 4 times cheaper for profiles.

When to choose Weir

Weir is the better fit for small or uneven volume, Reddit, or read-only agents.

Good

  • 5,000 free credits every month, about 4,760 posts
  • $0.105 per 1,000 posts on the $1,000 pack
  • Reddit posts, comments and users on the same key
  • Hourly monitors for about 720 credits a month, plus results
  • Failed calls cost nothing
  • Packs from $5, with no subscription

Watch out

  • Read-only: no posting, liking or DMs
  • Monitors run hourly at best, daily at best on the free tier
  • 30 requests a minute on the free tier, 600 at most

Migrating from Xquik to Weir

On Xquik, search is a GET with the key in an x-api-key header:

curl -G https://xquik.com/api/v1/x/tweets/search \
  -H "x-api-key: $XQUIK_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "q=from:XDevelopers" \
  -d minLikes=50 -d queryType=Latest

Weir's is the call at the top. We ran the same search through Weir's MCP server with limit: 3 on 22 October 2026, and got three posts for 4 credits. One, trimmed:

{
  "id": "2110414269036794108",
  "text": "ZohoSocial is making it even easier for teams to power their brands on X! ...",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-14T16:55:45.000Z",
  "author": { "username": "XDevelopers", "followersCount": 697876 },
  "likeCount": 116,
  "viewCount": 12993
}

Many fields keep their names, like text, createdAt and likeCount. These change:

Xquik Weir
GET /x/tweets/search POST /v1/x/search
x-api-key header Authorization: Bearer
q query
queryType: "Latest" sort: "latest"
fromUser fromUsers, an array
tweets[] data[]
next_cursor meta.nextCursor, sent as cursor
author.followers author.followersCount

Stop paging when meta.nextCursor is null, where you used to wait for has_next_page: false.

When not to use Weir

  • You need to post, like or DM. Weir only reads; Xquik can write.
  • You need alerts within seconds. Xquik checks every second; Weir checks hourly at best.
  • You mostly look up profiles. Xquik costs half or less per profile.
  • You poll many times a second. Xquik allows 500 reads a second; Weir tops out at 600 a minute.
