Twitter webhooks
Twitter webhooks for new posts, mentions and replies, without an enterprise contract.
Point a monitor at a search, an account or a thread, and Weir sends every new result to your webhook as signed JSON: hourly, daily or weekly, with retries and a delivery log. No X developer app, no CRC endpoint to host.

Does Twitter have a webhook API?
Yes, two kinds. X's Account Activity API sends events for accounts that authorized your app, and X's docs say it is available on the Enterprise and Pay Per Use tiers; it reaches end of life on 31 January 2027 in favour of the X Activity API, priced through an account manager. For public posts you do not own (a keyword, a competitor, a thread), there is no official webhook at all. Weir fills that gap: a monitor runs the search on a schedule and POSTs only what is new to your URL, with 5,000 free credits a month.
Updated October 2026.
Why Twitter webhooks are hard to get
X's own webhooks only cover accounts that have authorized your app: direct messages, likes, follows and posts on those accounts. They need a public HTTPS endpoint that passes X's challenge-response check, an app with the right access, and from 2027 a migration to the X Activity API, whose limits and pricing X's docs say to get from your account manager. Watching public posts on a topic was never covered; people fall back to polling search from a cron job, which breaks on edits and reposts and charges for everything it fetches.

Watch what you do not own
A search across X and Reddit, one X account, a thread, a subreddit or a Reddit user. Every target is public data, so nothing needs to authorize your app.
Only what is new
Results are deduplicated by content, not by post id, so an edited post is not sent twice and a repost is not missed. A run that finds nothing new costs one credit.
Signed, retried, logged
Each delivery carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature, a timestamp and an event id. Failed deliveries are retried for about nine hours, and every attempt is listed at /v1/webhook-deliveries.
Start on the free tier
One daily or weekly monitor is free, with 5,000 credits a month. Paid tiers add hourly runs and more monitors; there is no premium for scheduling itself.

Questions
Is this real-time?
No. A monitor runs on a schedule: hourly on paid tiers, daily or weekly on every tier, or on demand with a run call. X's own Account Activity API is event-driven but covers only accounts that authorized your app. For public topics, an hourly monitor is the practical option.
What does a delivery look like?
A POST with a JSON body holding the new results in X's or Reddit's own field names, plus weir-signature, weir-timestamp and weir-event-id headers. Respond with a 2xx within 10 seconds, then do the work; the docs give verifiers in TypeScript, Python and Go.
Can it post to Discord or Slack directly?
Not directly: Discord and Slack webhooks expect their own message format, so a small relay (a serverless function or a Zapier-style step) turns Weir's JSON into a message. The Twitter to Discord guide shows a working relay.
What does it cost?
A run costs 1 credit plus the normal per-result rate for each new result it stores (1 credit per X post, 3 per Reddit post). Results already delivered are never charged again. If credits run out, monitors pause and resume when credits arrive.
Do I need an X developer account?
No. Weir reads public data and needs only a Weir key. Your X account is not involved.
