Do I need my own Reddit or X API access?
No. One Weir key covers both platforms. We handle collection, so you never apply for API access, manage tokens, or pay X's API tiers.
What does it cost?
Every account gets 5,000 free credits a month, no card: about 4,700 X posts, fetched 20 at a time. After that you buy prepaid credits from $5; they never expire. A call costs one credit plus what it returns — an X post is 1 credit, a Reddit post 3 — and a call that fails costs nothing.
Which AI assistants work?
Anything that speaks MCP, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, connects with a sign-in, so there is no key to paste. Meta Muse, Coze, n8n and your own scripts use an API key instead, sent in an Authorization: Bearer header.
Is it only public data?
Yes. Weir reads public posts, comments, profiles and communities, never private messages, protected accounts or private communities, and it never posts, likes or votes on your behalf.
