Tweet counter

Count the posts any public X account or hashtag made in the last 7 days, day by day, with replies and reposts split out. No X account needed.

1 credit per post counted, up to about 210 a run, from your free Weir credits (5,000 a month, no card).

How the count works

The counter searches X for the account's posts, or the hashtag's, between two exact times, and counts the results by UTC day. Search finds older posts than an account's timeline does, which stops after its most recent few hundred posts. For a longer window, a different time zone, or more than about 200 posts, run the same count from code with our guide to counting tweets.

For one account's lifetime total and its average posts a day, the account age checker reads the post count on the profile. To see how a very busy account posts, read our 30-day count of how often Elon Musk tweets.

Questions

How do I count someone's tweets?

Type their @username, or paste their profile link, and press Run. The counter reads every post the account made in the last 7 full days (UTC) from X search and shows the total, the count for each day, and how many were replies and reposts.

Can I count tweets with a hashtag?

Yes. Type the hashtag with its #, such as #JWST. The counter keeps only posts that carry the tag, since X's search also returns posts that just mention the words, and shows how many different accounts used it.

Is the tweet count exact?

It counts what X search returns for public posts that are still up. Deleted posts are not counted, protected accounts cannot be read, and X says search may not show every post, so treat the number as a floor. For an account's lifetime total, use the post count on its profile.

What does a count cost?

1 credit for each post counted plus 1 for each page of about 20, on Weir's free plan of 5,000 credits a month with no card. A run stops at about 200 posts, near 210 credits, so a busy hashtag cannot use up your month; the result says when it stopped early.

Which days does it count?

The last 7 full days in UTC, midnight to midnight, ending at today's midnight UTC. Today's posts are left out so every day shown is complete.

Why does it need a Weir account?

It reads posts live from X through Weir's API, which costs a little per post, so it runs on your free monthly credits. Sign-up takes a minute and needs no X account.
