Why a remote server
Most Reddit MCP servers are local scripts that need your own Reddit API credentials — which now require Reddit's approval — and a Python or Node install on every machine. A remote server works in web and mobile apps too, and there is nothing to install or keep updated.

Does it work in ChatGPT?
Yes, as a custom MCP server: in ChatGPT open Plugins, add a custom MCP server with the URL https://api.weirapp.io/mcp, and sign in. Availability of custom servers depends on your ChatGPT plan.
Is Weir affiliated with Reddit?
No. Weir is an independent service that reads public Reddit content. You are responsible for making sure your use of the data complies with Reddit's User Agreement and policies.
Do I need my own Reddit API credentials?
No. Weir handles collection. You only sign in to Weir.
