Elon Musk tweets about 66 times a day, or 49 without replies, by our count over 30 days, 6 October to 4 November 2026.

We counted his X (Twitter) posts through Weir, the API we run, and checked the count two ways. You get his daily and weekly numbers, his busiest hours, and what Polymarket counts.

To count any day yourself, paste this into Claude or ChatGPT with Weir connected:

How many posts did @elonmusk make yesterday, in UTC?
Leave out replies, and split reposts, quote posts and new posts.

How often does Elon Musk tweet? About 66 times a day

He made 1,967 posts in our 30 days, counting replies, reposts and quote posts.

66posts a day on average
49a day without replies
153on his busiest day, 30 October
14on his quietest, 2 November

The median day held 63 posts, so a typical day sits close to the average.

His pace rose through the month: 61.5 posts a day in the first half, then 69.7 in the second.

His all-time pace is much lower. His profile's post count, the statusesCount field in Weir's profile lookup, read 111,631 on 5 November 2026:

{
  "username": "elonmusk",
  "statusesCount": 111631,
  "createdAt": "2009-06-02T20:12:29.000Z"
}

That works out to about 17.5 posts a day since he joined in June 2009. The lookup cost 3 credits.

Two ways of counting found the same posts

We pulled his posts through Weir on 5 November 2026. Days are UTC days, midnight to midnight.

  • Posts, quotes and reposts came from X search for 6 to 18 October, using fromUsers and -filter:replies, then from his timeline.
  • The timeline stopped after his latest 848 posts, about 18 days back, so search covered the older days.
  • Replies came from X search with filter:replies, for all 30 days.

Where the routes overlapped, they found the same posts:

Check X search Other route
Posts, 1 to 2 Nov 55 55, timeline
Posts, 18 Oct from 15:00 UTC 15 15, timeline
Replies, 3 Nov 7 7, Replies tab

In both post checks, the post ids matched too, not only the totals.

The whole count cost about 2,100 credits, at 1 per post plus 1 per call. That's about $0.42 at our $5 pack's rate. It also fits in one month's free credits, with more than half to spare.

Download his tweets per day as CSV: elon-musk-posts-per-day-oct-nov-2026.csv. It has one row per UTC day, split into new posts, quote posts, reposts and replies.

It's CC BY 4.0, like our X engagement benchmarks, so reuse it with a link back. To cite it:

Weir (2026). Elon Musk posts per day, 6 Oct to 4 Nov 2026. CC BY 4.0.

Half of his posts are reposts

Most of what he posts shares or quotes another post:

His 1,967 posts by type
Reposts948 (48%)
Replies505 (26%)
Quote posts467 (24%)
New posts47 (2%)

New posts, written from scratch without quoting anyone, came to 47 in 30 days. That's about 1.6 a day, and 7 days had none.

Those rare posts get far more likes than his quote posts. On his timeline from 19 October to 4 November, a new post's median was 92,165 likes. A quote post's median was 23,991, about a quarter as much.

To rank his posts by likes, see how to find someone's most liked tweets.

When does Elon Musk usually tweet? Midday, and after midnight

His busiest block is noon to 3 p.m., US Eastern time, and his quietest is 3 to 6 a.m.

His posts by time of day, US Eastern
Midnight-3 a.m.19%
3-6 a.m.3%
6-9 a.m.6%
9 a.m.-noon16%
Noon-3 p.m.21%
3-6 p.m.12%
6-9 p.m.10%
9 p.m.-midnight14%

The single busiest hour was 1 to 2 p.m., with 9% of his posts. Nearly 1 in 5 posts landed between midnight and 3 a.m.

We use Eastern time because the Polymarket market we read runs on it. Don't read much into weekdays: 30 days hold only 4 or 5 of each.

How many times does Elon Musk tweet a week? 322 to 374

Without replies, each of our four full weeks held between 322 and 374 posts:

Posts a week without replies, Tue to Mon (UTC)
Oct 6-12334
Oct 13-19344
Oct 20-26322
Oct 27-Nov 2374

With replies, the same weeks held 423 to 534 posts.

Any 7 days in a row ranged from 266 to 416 posts without replies. The last 7, from 29 October to 4 November, held 378.

Elon Musk tweet count on Polymarket: replies don't count

Polymarket runs markets on how many times he posts in a set window. We read the rules of its 3 to 10 November 2026 market on PredScope, a site that mirrors Polymarket's data, on 5 November. Polymarket's own page didn't show us the rules text.

  • The window runs noon to noon, Eastern time, from 3 to 10 November 2026.
  • Main feed posts, quote posts and reposts count.
  • Replies don't count toward the total, with an exception the mirror cuts off. Read the full rules on the market.
  • The market page links Polymarket's tracker, xtracker.polymarket.com, beside its count.

So our figure without replies is the one to compare: about 49 a day. Our weeks run on UTC days, not noon to noon. This is a count of the past, not a forecast or betting advice.

Elon Musk tweet counter: a prompt or a script

The fastest way is the prompt at the top. Connect Weir first: add https://api.weirapp.io/mcp as a custom connector, as our Claude and ChatGPT setup page shows.

We ran it in Claude Code with Weir connected on 5 November 2026. Claude made 3 search_x calls for 30 credits and answered:

@elonmusk, 4 November 2026 (UTC), without replies: 27 posts.
16 reposts, 9 quote posts, 2 new posts.

That matches our CSV row for 4 November.

For a script, this function needs only Python's standard library. Set WEIR_API_KEY to your key first:

import collections, json, os, time, urllib.request
def count_posts(user, since, until, max_pages=30):
    body = {"fromUsers": [user], "query": "-filter:replies", "since": since, "until": until, "limit": 100}
    head = {"Authorization": "Bearer " + os.environ["WEIR_API_KEY"], "Content-Type": "application/json"}
    posts = {}
    for _ in range(max_pages): # 1 credit per call, plus 1 per post
        req = urllib.request.Request("https://api.weirapp.io/v1/x/search", json.dumps(body).encode(), head)
        page = json.load(urllib.request.urlopen(req, timeout=60))
        for p in page["data"]: # keyed by id, so no post counts twice
            kind = "repost" if p["retweetedPost"] else "quote" if p["quotedPost"] else "new"
            posts[p["id"]] = (p["createdAt"][:10], kind)
        body["cursor"] = page["meta"]["nextCursor"]
        if not body["cursor"]: break
        time.sleep(4)  # free tier: 30 requests a minute, and a search counts as 2
    return collections.Counter(posts.values())

Count one UTC day with it:

counts = count_posts("elonmusk", "2026-11-01T00:00:00Z", "2026-11-02T00:00:00Z")
for (day, kind), n in sorted(counts.items()):
    print(day, kind, n)

We ran it on 5 November 2026. It made 4 calls for 51 credits and printed:

2026-11-01 new 3
2026-11-01 quote 12
2026-11-01 repost 32

That's 47 posts, the same as our CSV. The page cap, max_pages=30, holds a run under about 630 credits; a full month of his posts needs about 75 pages. If you get a 429 error, wait the seconds in its Retry-After header and run it again.

A week of his posts costs about 400 credits, and the X API cost calculator prices bigger jobs. For other accounts or hashtags, see our guide to counting tweets.

For an alert in Discord or Slack each time he posts, set up a monitor on his account.

When not to use Weir

  • You want a live total for one Polymarket window. The market page links its own tracker.
  • Deleted posts must count. Weir's API only returns posts still up.
  • You need first-party data. Weir isn't affiliated with X, so access can change.

We run Weir, so weigh our view knowing that. It reads public data only, and X's terms still apply to how you use it. This isn't legal advice.
