Social Blade Twitter Is Gone: Where to Get X Stats in 2026

Why Social Blade Twitter stats ended in March 2025, in its own words, plus where to find old daily gains, today's follower counts and a daily CSV log.

Social Blade removed its X (Twitter) stats on 13 March 2025, after X told it to move to an Enterprise API plan.

Its X pages have shown 404 Not Found in the Wayback Machine since. So you now rebuild what it gave you from three parts: saved Social Blade pages for the past, a lookup for today, and a daily log from here on. We run Weir, the API in the examples.

Paste this into your browser, swap nasa for any handle, and pick a day before 13 March 2025:

Why did Social Blade remove Twitter?

X raised Social Blade's API bill beyond what a mostly free site could pay, so Social Blade dropped X.

It explained in a post on 14 March 2025, the day after the change. "We did not plan on removing X, it only happened at the last minute," it wrote.

$42,000+a month for Enterprise, per the post
404what its X pages show in 2026 copies

Social Blade had paid for X's cheapest paid API tier since X began charging. Then, in February 2025, X's lawyer said Social Blade "was not allowed to use the $200/mo package anymore."

X wanted it on Enterprise, which the post says X's developer site listed at $42,000 to $210,000 a month. A paywall that steep risked the rest of the site, so Social Blade removed X.

It held no ill will, it said, and would talk if X offered a workable deal.

What Social Blade Twitter stats showed, and where each lives now

Social Blade's saved page for @NASA, three days before the removal, shows what it gave you. You can still get most of it:

Social Blade gave you @NASA, 10 March 2025 Where to get it now
Follower count 85,769,090 X profile, or Weir
Daily gains, 14 days +13,275 that day Wayback copy
Monthly gains 59 months Wayback copy

The sections below cover each row.

Old Social Blade X follower stats still live in the Wayback Machine

The Wayback Machine saved many Social Blade pages before they went dark, and you can still read their numbers.

  1. Open the calendarUse the link at the top.
  2. Pick a day before 13 March 2025Later copies show 404.
  3. Read the tableThe script below adds monthly gains.

The saved copy of @NASA's page from 10 March 2025 shows a 14-day table of followers and daily gains. The charts hold more: 59 months of follower gains, back to April 2020, written into the page's code.

This script reads those months into a CSV with Python's standard library:

import gzip, re, sys, urllib.request
from datetime import datetime, timezone

handle, stamp = sys.argv[1], sys.argv[2]
url = f"https://web.archive.org/web/{stamp}id_/https://socialblade.com/twitter/user/{handle}"
page = urllib.request.urlopen(url, timeout=90).read()
if page[:2] == b"\x1f\x8b":  # archived gzipped
    page = gzip.decompress(page)
chart = page.decode("utf-8", "replace").split("Monthly Gained Followers")[1]
chart = chart.split("Highcharts.chart")[0] # stop at the next chart
print("month,followers_gained")
for ms, gained in sorted(re.findall(r"\[(\d{13}),\s*(-?\d+)\]", chart)):
    month = datetime.fromtimestamp(int(ms) / 1000, timezone.utc)
    print(f"{month:%Y-%m},{gained}")

Save it as sb_monthly.py and run python sb_monthly.py nasa 20250310225210. The number is the date stamp in the copy's address. We added up NASA's months by year:

@NASA's yearly follower gains, from Social Blade's saved page
20218,039,307
202218,278,036
20239,505,740
20245,970,744

This fills a gap for you: saved X profiles stop showing exact counts in mid-2022, but Social Blade's copies carry on until March 2025.

Not every account was saved, though. We found copies for @NASA and @SpaceX, but none for @github.

Get today's X follower counts, for one account or 100

You see today's count on the X profile. For many accounts, or to keep the numbers, you need an API.

We looked up @NASA on 5 November 2026 with get_x_user, the tool Weir's MCP server gives Claude or ChatGPT. It's the same lookup as GET /v1/x/users/NASA, and returned, trimmed:

{
  "id": "11348282",
  "username": "NASA",
  "followersCount": 92285083
}

That's 6,515,993 more followers than Social Blade showed on 10 March 2025, or about 10,770 a day.

It cost 3 credits: 1 for the call and 2 for the profile. Keep the id, because you need it for the batch lookup.

3credits for one profile
201credits for 100 in one batch call
300credits for 100 single calls

The batch lookup is GET /v1/x/users?ids=, where you list up to 100 ids split by commas. You pay nothing for an id that can't be returned; it's listed in meta.notFound.

No code? Our free Twitter profile analyzer shows you any public account's followers, posts a week, median views and engagement rate. You need a free Weir sign-in, and a report uses about 70 credits.

To judge that engagement rate, compare it with our X engagement benchmarks by follower count.

Log X follower history from today with 15 lines of Python

Since Social Blade left, you keep X follower history yourself: one batch call a day, one CSV row per account.

import csv, json, os, time, urllib.request

IDS = "11348282,34743251,13334762"  # @NASA, @SpaceX, @github: up to 100 ids
req = urllib.request.Request("https://api.weirapp.io/v1/x/users?ids=" + IDS)
req.add_header("Authorization", "Bearer " + os.environ["WEIR_API_KEY"])
with urllib.request.urlopen(req, timeout=60) as response: # 402: out of credits
    users = json.load(response)["data"]

day = time.strftime("%Y-%m-%d", time.gmtime())  # today's date in UTC
new = not os.path.exists("followers.csv")
with open("followers.csv", "a", newline="") as file:
    writer = csv.writer(file)
    if new:
        writer.writerow(["date", "username", "followers"])
    writer.writerows([day, u["username"], u["followersCount"]] for u in users)

Set WEIR_API_KEY and run it. Ours wrote this on 5 November 2026 and charged 7 credits:

date,username,followers
2026-11-05,NASA,92285096
2026-11-05,SpaceX,41929413
2026-11-05,github,2734715

NASA shows 13 more than our single lookup: Weir can serve a profile it read hours earlier.

Run the script once a day, with cron on Linux or a Mac, or Task Scheduler on Windows. Three accounts cost you 217 credits in a 31-day month, and your 5,000 free credits cover up to 80.

You'll find the full version, with past counts from saved X profiles and a chart, in our Twitter follower count history guide.

Where did Social Blade's X top 100 go?

It's gone, and you won't find a public list that replaces it day by day.

Social Blade ranked X accounts by followers, engagement and tweets, and kept daily and monthly trending lists. Its top 100 page last loaded in a Wayback copy from 13 March 2025.

The closest you'll get is Wikipedia's most-followed X accounts. It ranks the top 50 as of November 2026, rounded down to the nearest 100,000. NASA is 7th there at 92.2 million, in line with our lookup.

Other tools that still show X follower history

On 5 November 2026 we kept only tools whose own pages state the feature and a price.

Only Fedica passed. Its follower history page covers an X account you connect, and estimates the days before you connected. It needs the Grow plan: $29 a month, or $19 a month paid yearly.

Others showed no price on their own sites, so we left them out.

When not to use Weir

  • You check one account now and then. The X profile shows today's count for free.
  • You want the past. Weir returns today's counts only.
  • It's your own account. X's analytics or Fedica fit better; see Twitter analytics without Premium.
  • You track YouTube, Twitch or TikTok. Wikipedia says Social Blade still covers those.

Weir isn't affiliated with X or Social Blade, reads public data only, and can't post. It isn't licensed by X, so access can change. Track brands and public accounts, not private people; X's terms apply, and this isn't legal advice.

FAQ

Is Social Blade Twitter gone?

Yes. Social Blade removed X (Twitter) stats on 13 March 2025, after X told it to move to an Enterprise API plan. Its X pages show 404 Not Found in Wayback copies up to October 2026. Older copies still show you the numbers.

Is there a Social Blade alternative for X (Twitter)?

No single site replaces it, so you combine three parts: saved Social Blade pages for the past, the X profile or an API for today, and your own daily log. For your own account, Fedica sells follower history.

How can I see someone's follower count history on X?

Look for saved copies. You'll find exact counts on their X profile in Wayback copies until mid-2022. Their Social Blade page adds daily and monthly gains until March 2025. After that, only counts someone logged exist, so start your own log.

Will Social Blade bring back X stats?

Social Blade said it would talk if X offered a workable deal. Wayback copies from October 2026 still show its X pages as 404 Not Found, so plan on the options above for now.

How much does it cost to track X followers daily?

With Weir's batch lookup, each call costs 1 credit plus 2 per account. Three accounts cost 7 credits a day. Your 5,000 free monthly credits cover up to 80 accounts a day.
