To add Twitter and Reddit data to Meta Muse, create a custom connector for Weir with one prompt and a Weir API key.

Muse can then search X (Twitter) and Reddit for you and answer with a link to every post. Weir only reads, so Muse can't post as you. We run Weir.

Paste this into a new Muse chat:

Create a custom connector for Weir by following https://docs.weirapp.io/muse.md. Use my Weir API key as a Bearer token.

How to add a Meta Muse custom connector for Weir

The whole setup happens in one Muse chat, after you make a free Weir key.

  1. Create a Weir keySign up free and create one under API keys. It starts with weir_live_ and is shown once.
  2. Paste the promptStart a new Muse chat and paste the line above.
  3. Give Muse the keyEnter it where Muse asks for a credential, never in the chat.
  4. Run the free checkAsk "What's my Weir usage?" It costs 0 credits.
  5. Ask a real questionTry a prompt below and check a link or two.

The setup page is written for Muse. docs.weirapp.io/muse gives it the base URL, the Authorization: Bearer header, the main endpoints and their prices.

The key goes in the credential prompt. Meta's Help Center says "Muse stores these in its Secure Credentials Store." A key typed into the chat stays in your history, parallel.ai's guide warns.

Keep the key's default permissions. They read X, Reddit and your usage, but can't create monitors. So Muse can't set up a Weir monitor that spends credits on its own.

Meta doesn't vet Weir, either. Its Help Center says "Meta doesn't review custom connectors or how they use your information," so you trust us directly.

What can Muse do with X and Reddit data?

Muse has no built-in X or Reddit connector on postfa.st's list of Muse connectors. One of our users wrote that it often couldn't read X posts on its own. With Weir connected, three jobs work well:

  • Answer "what are people saying about [topic] on X and Reddit this week?" Muse searches both, groups the posts and links each one, so you can check its summary.
  • Send a daily or weekly digest from accounts you trust. In TWiT's hands-on, Muse saved a weekly roundup as a recurring task in its scheduled jobs.
  • Find people asking for a product like yours. Search the words buyers use, like "any recommendations for", and get every post's link.

Muse sends a digest through its own built-in connectors, such as Telegram, Slack, Gmail, Notion and Google Sheets. All five are on that list, updated 13 October.

That delivery is Muse's feature: Weir only finds the posts.

A real result: what AI labs said about agents this week

We ran a narrow version of the first job on 25 October 2026. It searched X for one keyword from five AI labs over one week.

→ search_x {"fromUsers": ["OpenAI", "AnthropicAI", "GoogleDeepMind", "AIatMeta",
"huggingface"], "query": "(agent OR agents) -filter:nativeretweets", "onlyOriginal":
  true, "since": "2026-10-18T00:00:00Z", "minLikes": 100, "limit": 5}
← 2 posts · 3 credits (1 + 2 × 1)
Oct 23 13,092 likes @OpenAI "We assembled teams of agents ... and tasked them
with finding weaknesses in our research environments."
          https://x.com/OpenAI/status/2113718797505036665
Oct 21 7,004 likes @OpenAI "...thousands of GPT-Rosalind agents worked in parallel"
          https://x.com/OpenAI/status/2112899854569762936

We called Weir's MCP tool search_x. It takes the same fields as POST /v1/x/search, the endpoint your Muse connector calls.

Only two posts matched, both from OpenAI. Dropping the floor to 20 likes returned the same two posts.

3credits for the search above
21credits for a 20-post X search
31credits for a 10-post Reddit search

Weir bills a credit per call plus a credit per X post, or 3 per Reddit post. Failed calls cost nothing, and paid packs start at $5 as of October 2026. See pricing.

Muse prompts for X and Reddit, with what each costs

Put a number in every prompt. Without one, Weir returns up to 25 results a call.

This week on X and Reddit: 27 credits at most.

Use Weir. What are people saying about [topic] on X and Reddit this week?
Get 10 X posts with 20+ likes and 5 Reddit posts. One line each, with links.

A daily digest from accounts you trust: 21 credits a day.

Every morning at 8, use Weir to get the last 24 hours of posts from @OpenAI,
@AnthropicAI and @GoogleDeepMind, no replies, 20 at most. Send the 5 most-liked
to my Telegram, with links.

Slack, Gmail, Notion or a Google Sheet work too.

People asking for a product like yours: 52 credits at most.

Use Weir to find posts from the past 7 days asking for a [product type], like
"any recommendations for". Get 20 from X and 10 from Reddit. Skip ads; link each.

A tight first test: 11 credits at most. Run it before the others.

Use Weir: posts from @[account] about [keyword] in the last 24 hours, 10 at most.
Then tell me how many came back and what the call cost.

Each figure is a maximum. Here is a month of the two repeating jobs:

Credits a month at most (30 days, 4 weeks)
Daily digest630
Weekly buyer search208
Both together838

Both fit easily in the free credits you get each month.

Spend fewer credits: start tight, then widen

Our Chinese-speaking users worked out this method, and it suits Muse well.

  • Start with one account, one keyword and 24 hours. Check that dates, authors and like counts look right.
  • Widen one thing at a time. In our test above, a lower like floor changed nothing.
  • Merge repeats before Muse summarises. One post can match two keywords, so have Muse drop duplicates by link.
  • Note the credits after each query. Weir sends each call's cost in an x-credits-charged header, and checking your usage is free, so ask Muse to report one or the other.
  • Drop reposts if you want originals. X search returns them, so have Muse add -filter:nativeretweets.
  • Say no to extra pages. Each page is billed, so Muse should fetch more only when you ask.

The X advanced search operators guide lists more filters you can name in a prompt.

If it doesn't work

  • Muse reports a 401. The key is wrong, revoked or expired. Keys last 90 days unless you chose otherwise.
  • A 403 means a missing permission, such as X left unticked when you made the key.
  • It browses x.com instead. Start the prompt with "Use Weir" so Muse picks the connector.
  • You see a 402. You're out of credits, and retrying won't help until you add some.
  • Calls stop with a 429. The free tier allows 30 requests a minute, so wait and retry.

When not to use Weir

  • Muse has to post on X. Weir only reads. AnythingMCP's X connector for Muse can post, with your own X developer app.
  • You want private data, like DMs or bookmarks. Weir reads public posts only.
  • You only need X, at the lowest price for a small volume. TwitterAPI.io lists $0.15 per 1,000 tweets as of October 2026. Weir's $5 pack works out to about $0.21 per 1,000 X posts.
  • You need a guarantee. Weir isn't licensed by or affiliated with X or Reddit, so access can change.

FAQ

Does Meta Muse have an X (Twitter) connector?

Not a built-in one. The postfa.st list of Muse connectors, updated 13 October 2026, shows no X or Reddit connector. You can add one yourself as a custom connector, as this guide does with Weir.

Can I add Weir to Muse as a custom MCP server?

Maybe. AnythingMCP's Muse guide describes Settings, then Connectors, then "Add custom connector", where you paste a server URL and sign in. Weir's is https://api.weirapp.io/mcp. We haven't confirmed that Weir's sign-in completes inside Muse, so use the key route.

Does Meta review custom connectors?

No. Meta's Help Center says it doesn't review custom connectors or how they use your information, and suggests reading the provider's privacy policy. Meta hasn't reviewed or listed Weir.

What can Muse do with my Weir key?

With the default permissions, it can read public X and Reddit data, check your usage and read your monitors and webhooks. It can't post anything. Revoke the key under API keys in your Weir dashboard, and Muse loses access at once.
