ScrapeCreators API or Weir: which fits you?

It depends on which platforms you need, and on what you read most.

ScrapeCreators bills one credit per request for most endpoints, however much it returns. Weir bills per result from prepaid credits, plus 1 credit per call. So ScrapeCreators wins on big pages, and Weir wins on single lookups.

Both host an MCP server with OAuth sign-in, so Claude and Cursor can connect to either one.

Scrape Creators pricing: one credit buys one request

ScrapeCreators sells credit packs that never expire. Its pricing page says one credit buys one request "for most endpoints", and that "a few use more."

The page lists the Freelance pack at $1.88 per 1,000 requests and Business at $0.99. Read the fine print too:

  • Bonus credits: up to 7,000 more if you tell them how you found them, star their GitHub repo and review them on G2.
  • Enterprise starts at 1 million credits, at a custom price.
  • Cache hits are free. Pass cache_max_age and a stored copy up to that age costs 0 credits.
  • No rate limits. The docs ask you to stay under 500 requests at once.

Weir's packs run from $5 to $1,000, and none of them expire either.

What 10,000 profiles and 1 million posts cost

Profiles favor Weir. Bulk posts favor ScrapeCreators.

10,000 X profiles a month:

  • ScrapeCreators: 10,000 requests. At $47 per 25,000, that is $18.80, or $9.94 at the Business rate.
  • Weir: a profile costs 2 credits plus 1 for the call. 10,000 × 3 = 30,000 credits, less 5,000 free, leaves 25,000: one $5 pack.

1 million X posts a month, assuming each page holds 20 posts on both APIs:

  • ScrapeCreators: 1,000,000 ÷ 20 = 50,000 requests. That is $49.70 at the Business rate and $94 at the Freelance rate.
  • Weir: 50,000 calls + 1,000,000 posts = 1,050,000 credits. Less 5,000 free, you pay $104.50 at the $1,000 pack's rate.

At 10,000 posts a month the gap is small. ScrapeCreators needs 500 requests, about $0.94 of a pack.

Weir needs 10,500 credits, less 5,000 free: $1.10. The real difference is the first payment, $47 against $5.

If you claim all 7,000 ScrapeCreators bonus credits, though, they cover about 14 months of that.

How does ScrapeCreators read X (Twitter)?

ScrapeCreators has 7 X endpoints, and two of them don't work like X's own search and timeline.

  • Search goes through Google. The docs describe X search "using Google-indexed results", with up to 11 pages per query.
  • User tweets are popular ones. A request returns "up to 100 popular tweets," not the latest, and the docs show no cursor for more.
  • Profiles and single tweets cost 1 credit each and accept cache_max_age.
  • Transcripts and Communities have endpoints of their own.

Weir searches X itself. You get X's operators, latest or top sort, date ranges and like floors, and you page with meta.nextCursor until it is null.

Weir has 25 X endpoints and 12 for Reddit, including replies, quotes, followers, Lists and Spaces.

When to choose ScrapeCreators

Choose ScrapeCreators if you need more than X and Reddit, or read posts by the million.

  • Up to 100 of an account's popular tweets for one credit
  • Cached results cost 0 credits
  • No rate limits; it suggests under 500 requests at once

Watch out

  • $47 smallest pack, and free credits come once
  • X search runs on Google's index, 11 pages at most

Reddit follows the same rule there: 1 credit per request. Weir charges 3 credits per Reddit post, so at volume ScrapeCreators is likely the cheaper Reddit source too.

When to choose Weir

Weir is the better fit for X profiles, small or uneven volume, and alerts.

When not to use Weir

  • You need TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. Weir reads X and Reddit only.
  • You read millions of posts a month. ScrapeCreators' Business pack costs less if its pages hold 10 or more.
  • You only want an account's top tweets. ScrapeCreators returns 100 of them for one credit.
  • You need to post. Both only read, so use the official X API.
